Robert Semple has a long history of outdoor education. For four years, we have taken our fifth graders on a week-long outdoor education experience. The students absolutely love learning about their world firsthand! They gain a healthy dose of independence, self-accomplishment, and bonding with their classmates, chaperones, and teachers. This camp is recognized for it’s alignment with the state of California’s fifth grade science standards and everything is taught by highly-qualified and caring naturalists.

As a group we will be heading to Mission Springs Outdoor Education Camp near Santa Cruz for five days and four nights. We are very excited to be heading back to Mission Springs and cannot wait to get the ball rolling as we gear-up for our memorable outdoor learning experience!

This camp is packed with environmental flora, fauna, facts, and fun! We will learn more about the natural world around us than we ever could in the classroom or at a computer. In fact, the outdoors will be our classroom as we see, touch, taste, feel, and smell our way through the redwood forests and up the hills in the Santa Cruz Hills.

Hiking, searching, constructing, climbing, collaborating, team-building, trusting, discovering, cleaning, eating, recycling, responding, and of course, playing will fill your child’s week with memorable experiences s/he will remember always.
